Bring your machine in and learn machine basics like threading the machine, winding and inserting the bobbin, adjusting thread tension, selecting stitch type & length, sewing a straight stitch, backstitching to lock seams, pivoting at corners, sewing curves, managing seam allowances, using zigzag and decorative stitches, changing needles, and using presser feet. We will also discuss how to properly use a rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat. You must pre-register and pay for this class at Lowery’s by July 7, 2026.

Join us to make a beautiful Tote Bag. This class is designed for the person who has some experience in sewing. Some of the skills you will learn are: cutting fabric accurately, applying interfacing, creating boxed corners, sewing seams through thick layers, topstitching for strength & structure, making and attaching straps/handles, creating lining and drop?in linings, adding pockets, turning bags right?side out, invisible hand stitching and pressing techniques for structured bags.
