Warsaw, Indiana's Sewing and Vacuum Experts
Your Equipment Care Questions, Straight from the Shop Floor
  • Do you fix machines on-site, or do you send them out to a third party?

All repairs are performed right here in our Warsaw shop. We do not send machines off to outside service centers, which means you are dealing with the same people who diagnosed the problem from start to finish, with no added delays from third-party logistics. This in-house approach applies to both sewing machines and vacuums, and it is one of the reasons customers across the region trust us with equipment they depend on for serious projects.
  • Which sewing machine and vacuum brands are you authorized to service under warranty?

We are an authorized warranty service station for Janome, Elna, Miele, Riccar, SEBO, and Simplicity. Authorized status means we can perform manufacturer-backed warranty repairs that protect your coverage, something a general repair shop or big-box retailer cannot offer. If your machine is still under warranty, bringing it to an authorized dealer like Lowery's ensures the repair is done correctly and your warranty remains intact.
  • Can you repair a Shark or Dyson vacuum even though you do not sell those brands?

Yes. While our primary vacuum lines are Miele, Riccar, SEBO, and Simplicity, we do service high-market-share brands like Shark and Dyson as well. If your current vacuum is struggling, bring it in and we will take a look. Many customers who come in for a repair on a mass-market machine end up learning about the longer-term value of a premium brand, but there is never any pressure to do anything other than fix what you brought in.
  • Why do affordable vacuums from big-box stores seem to break down so quickly?

Mass-market vacuums are often built to a price point rather than a performance standard, which means components wear out faster and replacement parts can be hard to source. A vacuum in the $150 range may need replacing every couple of years, while a premium brand like Miele or SEBO is engineered for decade-plus longevity and backed by a strong warranty. Over time, the cost per year of ownership on a quality machine is often lower than cycling through disposable units, and you get consistent performance throughout the life of the machine.
  • Do you install and repair central vacuum systems, or only portable vacuums?

We handle both. Our team installs new central vacuum systems built into the walls and cabinetry of your home, and we also repair existing in-home systems that may have lost suction or developed other issues. Central vacuums are a specialty service, so if you are unsure whether your system can be repaired or whether a new installation makes sense for your home, we can walk you through the options based on what you already have.
  • What skill levels are your sewing classes designed for?

Our hands-on workshops cover a wide range, from machine basics for those just getting started to more involved project-based classes covering things like tote bags, zipper pouches, and table runners. Whether you have never threaded a bobbin or you are working toward more advanced construction, there is a class that fits where you are. Class registration and the current calendar are managed through the Like Sew platform, where you can check availability and sign up.
  • What types of fabric and notions do you carry in the store?

Our fabric selection includes quilting cottons, flannels, batiks, and pre-cuts, along with a range of yarn for knitters and crocheters. We stock notions and craft essentials alongside our fabric, so quilters and sewists can find what they need in one stop. The fabric and notions department is a core part of what we do, and we keep a meaningful in-store selection rather than directing customers to order online and wait.
  • How far does your service area reach beyond Warsaw?

We serve customers throughout a broad multi-county region in northern Indiana. In addition to Warsaw and Winona Lake, we regularly work with customers from Columbia City, Plymouth, Bremen, Nappanee, North Webster, Syracuse, Silver Lake, Wabash, Mentone, and Claypool. For most of northern Indiana, the answer is yes, we cover your area.
